Rex Specs Ear Pro: Sizing, Fit & Introduction Guide
Rex Specs Ear Pro looks like a snug snood, but it contains sound-reducing foam designed to cover your dog’s ears. Before buying, consider what it does, how it fits, and how you will help your dog get comfortable wearing it.
What does Ear Pro do?
According to Rex Specs, Ear Pro uses acoustically engineered foam to reduce sound reaching the ears. The manufacturer lists fireworks, machinery, and other loud environments among its intended uses. Correct positioning matters: the foam must cover the ear openings.
Buying it does not guarantee your dog will feel relaxed around noise. Ear Pro reduces sound; it does not make a loud environment automatically safe or replace a behavior plan.
Read the manufacturer’s product information.
How do you choose a size?
Measure around the widest part of your dog’s head, passing just in front of the ears and underneath the chin.
Size 2: 13–15 inches
Size 3: 15–17.5 inches
Size 4: 17.5–21 inches
Rex Specs recommends sizing up if your dog falls between sizes. Choose by measurement rather than breed alone. See the official measuring guide.
How do you introduce it?
Practice in a quiet setting before you need the equipment. Give your dog time to learn that it predicts something pleasant.
Let your dog investigate the Ear Pro and reward their interest.
Encourage them to place their nose into the opening voluntarily.
Gradually position it over the head and ears, rewarding relaxed behavior. Remove it before your dog becomes uncomfortable.
Gradually increase wearing time, rewarding your dog throughout.
If your dog struggles, return to an easier step. Avoid forcing the equipment on, and don’t expose your dog to loud sounds to test whether it works. Read Rex Specs’ introduction guidance.
